One of the easiest ways to get an insurance company to agree with your bid starts with the policy holder. Having the homeowner involved early in the claims process can pay some huge dividends and it doesn’t really have to be a difficult task. This is their second biggest investment in life besides family. It’s their home they want what’s best, so have a document that tells an uneducated homeowner about the process. Let them know about code and their poorly written estimate and walk them through the supplementing process. It sets an early expectation that you can manage easily and if and when you have insurance issues let’s face it they have way more push than we do. So get an SOP in place for incorporating the policy holder and supplementing and if you need help with some procedures let us know.
